This Association is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person.
It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes. The specific
purposes for which this Association is organized is to represent and promote the profession public and private
emergency management for the Coachella Valley through education, research and networking. The
Association is dedicated to the protection of life and property through assertive planning and professional
emergency management.
Objectives of the Association include but are not limited to the following:
(a) Promote an understanding of natural and man-made disasters; effective and integrated emergency
management systems; accurate, authentic, and responsible information to the public; and cooperative relations
with other organizations.
(b) Support of effective multi-agency response and recovery during major disruptions to the environment.
(c) Serve as a catalyst and umbrella structure embracing a number of disciplines which would have to
function together effectively in a coordinated manner to effectively manage a disaster.
(d) Seek and advise Association members of the most promising innovations in concept, design, and
technology related to emergency management.
(e) Convey Association position on appropriate matters to agencies in both the public and private sectors.
